Cross-border projects for the natural heritage of the Carpathians!
Two more projects will soon begin implementation under the Small Projects Fund of the Interreg Poland-Slovakia Program 2021-2027.
Today in Przemyśl, at the headquarters of the Landscape Park Complex and the Bukowsko Commune Office, agreements were signed for the implementation of Polish-Slovak projects that combine nature conservation, education, and culture in the Polish-Slovak border region.
1. Forest Gifts – Promotion of Transboundary Carpathian Nature.
Beneficiary: Bukowsko Commune
Partner: Obec Bukovce
The project aims to promote natural heritage and develop sustainable ecotourism, supporting the local economy without harming the environment. The project also includes education on safety and behavior in the presence of large predators.
The project will include the construction of:
Nature Education Center in Bukowce
Forest Corner in Zboiska – a gazebo with interactive educational materials
Educational film "Secrets of the Carpathian Forest" (PL/SK)
These places will promote the beauty of Carpathian nature, educate, and create space for relaxation along the route.
2. Folk wisdom of the borderland – historical and natural heritage
Beneficiary: Przemyśl Landscape Park Complex
Partner: Umelecký Klub Prospecta
The project aims to preserve and promote our shared cultural and natural heritage by creating modern, accessible educational infrastructure and developing tourism and educational opportunities for various audiences.
The tasks include:
An educational museum room, "The Hospitallers' Pharmacy," showcasing herbal medicine and the history of the Hospitallers' Order (with interactive and sensory elements).
Cross-border herbal workshops for children, youth, and adults.
Artistic, cultural, and culinary workshops, ranging from painting and handicrafts, through traditional herbal cosmetics, to ancient Carpathian dishes.
Thank you for joining us today, and we wish you much joy in pursuing our joint projects!
