Central Mountains: science and local governments join forces to develop the Carpathian Euroregion!
On March 9th, a consultation meeting dedicated to the results of the Central Mountains project was held at the Faculty of Architecture.
In the historic interiors of the Palace in Łobzów, in the presence of rectors Prof. Andrzej Szarata, Rector of the Kraków University of Technology; Prof. Sylwester Tabor, Rector of the University of Agriculture; and Prof. Bernard Ziębicki, Rector of the Kraków University of Economics, newly appointed to the Scientific Council of the Carpathian Euroregion, we discussed the plan for institutionalizing and operationalizing the Cross-Border Functional Areas of the Carpathian Euroregion with the heads of our member governments from Poland and Slovakia, as well as scientists and experts.
The discussion also focused on the internationalization of the Euroregion's potential in the context of cooperation with European and Chinese partners. During the meeting, the Rector of the Kraków University of Economics was presented with the Act of Appointment to the Scientific Council of the Carpathian Euroregion.
The President of the Euroregion, along with his Deputy Marshal Piotr Pilch, also signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University, represented by its Director, Professor Kinga Anna Gajda.
Collaboration with the ISE UJ will expand the scope of debate and research on the Carpathians from a Central European perspective.
