Transnational partnership for innovation in tourism
The project "Carpathian media as a key to the promotion of cross-border cooperation within the Carpathian Euroregion" implemented in partnership with the Association of local governments "Euroregion Carpathians - Ukraine" and the West-Ukrainian Youth Journalism Foundation for Ecological and Tourist Information "WETI" co-financed by the Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the competition entitled "Cooperation in the field of public diplomacy 2013".
Overall goal
transfer of tourism innovations in the public-non-governmental sector in Podkarpacie on the example of Swiss solutions. The implementation of the project will result in the implementation of Swiss innovative tourism solutions to the public-non-governmental sector in Podkarpacie, having a pro-development impact on tourism in the voivodeship and in the area of the Carpathian Euroregion.
The goal will be achieved through:
- identification of best practices, innovative undertakings and design solutions applied in Swiss institutions in the field of tourism;
- analyzing the possibility of transferring Swiss tourism innovations in the public-non-governmental sector to the Podkarpacie region and developing mechanisms for making such a transfer;
- organization of the Alpine-Carpathian Tourism Innovation Forum as an international initiative, providing the opportunity to learn in practice good examples and innovative solutions used in tourism projects undertaken by public and non-governmental entities from Switzerland;
- increasing the knowledge of local government units in the Subcarpathian and NGO regions by sharing the Swiss experience;
- implementation of Swiss solutions by creating an international platform for the exchange of partnerships and innovation;
Project target groups:
- local government units, non-governmental organizations from the Podkarpacie area and the rest of the Carpathian Euroregion
and entities affected by them; - the tourism industry from the area of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and the entire Carpathian Euroregion;
- inhabitants of Podkarpacie and the rest of the Carpathian Euroregion.
Implementation period : April 12, 2013 - June 30, 2014

The main activities carried out under the project:
- May 2013 - Signing a partnership agreement with the HES-SO Tourism Institute based in Sierre
- May 2013 - Selection of a Project Team and signing contracts with staff
- June 2013 - Signing the financing agreement with Ecorys Polska.
