Detailed objectives

  1. Analysis of the spa potential of the Polish-Ukrainian part of the Carpathian Euroregion

  2. Creation of comprehensive promotional activities for the development of spa tourism in the Polish-Ukrainian part of the Carpathian Euroregion

The development of tourism is an important impulse dynamising the socio-economic development of the country. Currently, the negative effects of the global financial crisis force us to take decisive measures aimed at limiting the negative effects of the global economic crisis affecting tourism, and thus health and spa tourism. A huge problem is insufficient promotion of the services offered by spas on the domestic and international market. The aforementioned problem is the result of low financial expenditure on information and promotion of this tourism sector. The development of the Strategy for the Promotion of Carpathian Spa Tourism, which will include comprehensive activities for the development of spa tourism in the Polish-Ukrainian part of the Carpathian Euroregion, is a response to the above problems. The strategy will include a product definition and branding policy, guidelines for the brand of Carpathian spas, promotional activities and a mechanism for monitoring its implementation. Additionally, it will be part of the strategy of building and implementing the territorial Carpathian Brand.

An important element in the development and promotion of the Strategy for the Promotion of Carpathian Health Resort Tourism will be the organization of a conference aimed at inviting potential beneficiaries to cooperation, i.e. representatives of the tourism industry, entities providing health services, local leaders acting for the development of spa tourism on both sides of the border, as well as local authorities , local governments and non-governmental organizations.

The target group of the project are entities offering spa, tourist and agritourism services from the Podkarpackie voivodship and the Lviv, Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts. Indirect recipients are residents, tourists, local authorities, administrators, tourism organizers, institutions and non-governmental organizations operating in the field of nature protection, ecology and tourism, entrepreneurs.

The micro-project "Strategy for the development of spa tourism in the Polish-Ukrainian part of the Carpathian Euroregion" is part of the umbrella project "Cross-border cooperation for spa tourism in the Polish-Ukrainian borderland" implemented by the Umbrella Project Leader Association for the Development and Promotion of Podkarpacie "Pro Carpathia".
